The Georgia Herpetological Society hosted an annual meeting for people who are interested in the reptiles and frogs that live within the borders of the state. The EXPO took place in 2007 from November 17th to 18th and the festivities lasted for two days. The hours for the event were from 10am in the morning with closing of the expo occurring at 5pm each night. The location for the event was at the Cobb Gallerie in the Georgia’s capital of Atlanta. Admission for the event was $5 for children between the ages of 4 and 17 and $8 for all adults. All children under the age of 4 were admitted free to the exposition.

The celebration of the amphibians and reptiles drew over 175 different vendors that sold their products to the people that attended the festival. With over 1000 individual animals on display, a person could see many examples of the wildlife that is present in Georgia. In additional to the commercial area of the exposition, there were also booths with the purpose of educating the public about the animals and the best way to help conserve the habitats as well as preventing endangered species from becoming extinct.

One new aspect about the annual event in 2007 was the addition of a live exhibit that was sponsored by the Georgia Herpetological Society. In addition, many other wildlife organizations contributed to the event by setting up displays and informational seminars that served the purpose of raising awareness about the many different types of life that exist in the Georgia wilderness. For the children who came to the conference, there were several activities directed towards their interests. Parents could have their child’s picture taken with reptiles as a souvenir of the event. All who visited the Cobb Gallerie asserted that the conference was a rousing success and was enjoyed by all.
